GOOD NEWS! IF YOU’RE PLANNING YOUR STAY IN BILBAO, YOU’LL BE GLAD TO KNOW IT HAS AN EXCELLENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT NETWORK.
In Bilbao, you have four public transport options:
In Bizkaia, there’s a rechargeable card called Barik that allows you to travel on all public transport more cheaply than buying single tickets. It costs €3 and requires a minimum initial top up of €5.
You can purchase it at all Metro Bilbao and Renfe stations, Bizkaibus information booths, and at newsagents or tobacconists displaying the Barik symbol.

The metro is perfect for getting around central Bilbao quickly.
It has three lines covering most points of interest in Greater Bilbao.
